Promote Ecological Civilization Construction and Build a Beautiful China

“We must assure that by 2035, the quality of the ecological environment will be fundamentally improved, and the goal of the beautiful China will be basically achieved.” At the National Conference on Eco-environmental Protection held recently, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s firm voice made “beautiful China” a popular word once again, which leads people to think.

“By the middle of this century, we must build a strong, prosperous, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialist modernized country.” This is a mobilization order issued by the report of the 19th CPC National Congress to the entire party. The 18th CPC National Congress first put forward to “build a beautiful China,” and the 19th National Congress clearly put forward to “build the strong, prosperous, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialism”. At the National Conference on Eco-Environmental Protection, General Secretary Xi Jinping further emphasized, “By the middle of this century, material civilization, political civilization, spiritual civilization, social civilization, and ecological civilization will be fully promoted. Green development methods and lifestyles will be formed in an all-round way. People and nature live in harmony. The national governance system and governance capabilities in the eco-environment area will be fully modernized, and beautiful China will be built.” The concept of “Beautiful China” has never been so deeply rooted like today.

“The people’s yearning for a better life is our goal.” The ecological environment is a major political issue related to the party’s mission and a major social issue that affects people’s livelihood. “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.” Today, people’s awareness of environmental protection is deeper, broader, and more urgent than ever before. The people have been “enlightened, awakened, and taught” and are eagerly looking forward to improving the quality of the ecological environment. We must actively respond to the people’s wishes, hopes, and urgency, vigorously promote the construction of ecological civilization, provide more high-quality ecological products, and continue to meet the growing needs of the people for beautiful ecological environment. Moreover, we have to mobilize all social forces to promote the construction of ecological civilization, build a beautiful China, and let the people share the beauty of nature, the beauty of life, and the beauty of livelihood in lucid waters and lush mountains. This is a solemn commitment of the CPC to the people and a solemn declaration to the world.

“Restore China’s natural beauty, and paint China’s beautiful tomorrow,” which means the combination of more Chinese elements. The Tao way follows nature and nourishes all things on earth. Nature is the mother of life. It provides human beings with sources of living information, such as fertile land, abundant rivers, lakes, and seas, and sources of production information. Human beings produce, live, and develop in interaction with nature. We treat nature kindly, and nature will present gifts to us. In the future, China’s sky will be bluer, mountains and waters will be greener, and people and nature will be more harmonious. As General Secretary Xi Jinping described, we must give people “blue sky, white clouds, starry nights, clean waters, green shores, fish in shallow waters”, and retain “birds’ twitter, fragrance of flowers and idyllic rural scenery” for people. The design of the blank allows descendants to “write the latest and most beautiful words and to draw the latest and most beautiful pictures.” Only when it is so beautiful can we have a full range of beautiful China with rich connotations.

Therefore, we must implement the development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing, and take a road of civilized development with prosperous production, prosperous life, and good ecology. The pursuit of happiness for the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the original intention of our Party and the eternal mission of the communists. From “lovely China” to “beautiful China,” the Chinese communists march incessantly, perseveringly, stubbornly and forge ahead to turn the poor and backward China into the increasingly prosperous and strong China. China stands up, gets rich, and becomes strong. Moreover, it has to be beautiful. Let’s work together to build a beautiful China.
