“Once you do a thing, you must try your best. Otherwise, it’s better not to do it in the beginning.” It shows the character and life motto of Sun Lirui, a researcher of the Design and Technology Center of Shougang Environment Co., Ltd.

In 2012, Sun Lirui graduated from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture under the guidance of Prof. Chen Jialong, “the first man of resource utilization of construction waste”. During her graduate studies, she was once engaged in the research on some major projects such as the resource utilization of construction waste of national ministries and commissions and Beijing City, which cultivates and trains her professional skills and knowledge in the field of construction waste recycling and also lays a solid foundation for her to play a role in practice

Since Sun Lirui took the job, she has been engaged in technical innovations related to the resource utilization of solid waste, doing researches to overcome difficulties in the fields of technology such as the resourceful disposal of construction waste and the dry treatment of slag incineration of household waste, making a series of innovative achievements. She successively organizes the application of patents for 6 items, publishes more than 10 papers and is engaged in the research on national 863 project, “The Technology of Curing and Resource Utilization of Steel Slag Active Components”, the science and technology planning project of Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission  “Research on the Resourceful Disposal and Dry Separation Treatment Technology of Slag Incineration of Household Waste”, the science and technology project in Beijing transportation industry “Production Process and Performance Study of Recycled Road Materials of Construction Waste” and the development of other scientific research and engineering technology projects. As the main technical backbone, the entire process of construction, trial production, formal production and market development of Shougang construction waste was followed up by her.  Facing the domestic construction waste industry without complete reference data, she clears up the technical obstacles to promote the great development of the waste resource utilization and industrialization of Shougang Environment. She led the team to tackle the technical problems in raw material processing, product application and quality inspection. In view of the serious pollution and unsustainable status of the current slag incineration wet treatment, she creatively uses the technical models in other industries for reference and leads her team to explore a new idea of dry treatment. Her innovative achievements are confirmed to reach Chinese advanced level by experts.
