A Number of Management Innovations in Shougang Won the National, Beijing and Metallurgical Industry Awards

In 2017, Shougang Group had 59 recommendations for application and won a total of 37 awards during the 18th management innovations meeting, an increase of 23% over the previous year. And 2 of them won the 24th State-Level Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Award, with 16 products won the 2017 Metallurgy Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Award, and 19 products won the 32nd Beijing Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Award.

In order to adapt to the strategic structural readjustment and implement the 13th Five-Year Plan of Shougang, Shougang System Optimization Department and Development and Research Institute have identified six key areas of focus for management innovation: First, to deepen the reform, carry out institutional innovations and enhance management capabilities; Second, to combine the supply-side structural reforms in the steel industry with the focus on realizing the steel industry’s profit-control loss reduction and making efforts to reduce losses and increase efficiency so as to improve the capability of “manufacturing + service”; Third, to become an urban integrated service provider and promote the construction of two large parks in Beijing and Caofeidian; Fourth, to strengthen the internal control system, promote transformation and efficiency, deepen the reform of the remuneration distribution system and speed up reform of enterprise restructuring; Fifth, to improve the basic management and promote the construction of information technology; Sixth, to promote the its development strategy, and implement key management projects in 2016 and key tasks. In accordance with the key directions set by the Group and the key tasks of the Unit, all units insisted on deepening the reform in an all-round way and upholding the transformation and development, took “improving efficiency, improving economic performance and enhancing value” as the starting point, earnestly carried out management innovation activities, made great achievements in all aspects and developed and implemented a number of management innovation projects that have achieved remarkable results.

Among the winners of the 24th State-level Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Award, Jingtang Company’s “Construction and Implementation of the Intelligent Energy Management System of Metallurgical Enterprises with Industry Leading as Target” and the mining company’s “Blasting ‘Four Modernizations’ Management of Metallurgical Underground Mine with Safety and High Efficiency as Targets” won the second prize.

In the list of winners of the 2017 Metallurgy Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Award, Jingtang’s “Construction of the Intelligent Energy Management System of Metallurgical Enterprises” and “Construction and Implementation of the Management System for Promoting Market-Oriented Manufacturing of Iron and Steel Products” won the first prize; five results including Shougang Group’s “Construction and Implementation of the Asset Disposal System in the Relocation of Large Steel Enterprises” won the second prize; nine results including Shougang Group’s “Practice of Promoting the Transformation and Efficiency in Large Enterprises” won the third prize.

Among the winners of the 32nd Beijing Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Award, Human Resources Department of Shougang Group’s “Innovative Practice of Deepening the Reform of Cadre and Personnel System of Large State-owned Enterprises”, Development and Research Institute’s “Construction and Implementation of the Management and Control System in Comprehensive Large Enterprise Groups”, Strategy Development Department’s “Practice of Implementing the Exit Strategy to Achieve Structural Optimization in Large State-owned Enterprises”, Institute of Technology’s “Construction and Implementation of Steel Product Structure Adjustment Management System”, the joint-stock company’s “Practice of Creating On-Site Problem Management System in Large Iron and Steel Enterprises”, Shijingshan District Senior Citizens’ Home for the Elderly’s “Using Internet of Things and Internet + Elderly Care Services to Build Smart Elderly Care Service Model” and Shuigang Company’s “Construction of the Process Reengineering Management System Focusing on Optimizing Production Capacity and Promoting Benefits” won the first prize; Shougang Group General Office’s “Innovation and Practice of Construction of Strategic Decision-making Board of Directors in Enterprise Groups” and other 12 results won the second prize.
