In recent days, Qian’an Iron and Steel Company of Shougang was awarded by All-China Environment Federation the honorable title of “Chinese Outstanding Environmental Protection Enterprise”.

Qian’an Iron and Steel Company has been actively practicing the demonstrative role of state-owned enterprises in shifting towards green manufacturing. It has been committed to building a new generation of metallurgical demonstration plants featuring “recycling economy, energy saving and environmental protection and cleanness and efficiency”, in an effort to be the role model leading green and recycling economy. Qian’an Iron and Steel Company intelligentizes and informationizes the environmental protection supervision, integrating on-line automatic monitoring with video monitoring for the full-coverage, full-automation and all-weather dynamic monitoring of major pollution sources. Also, the company continuously develops the clean production, controls source, strengthen the process control to lift clean production to the advanced level in China and complete the record of standards and conditions of steel industry. It implements the green action plan, invests large amounts of money on additional pellet and sintering desulfurization projects, carries out material yard closed transformation, upgrades and transforms key environmental protection facilities, and take the lead in meeting the special emission limit requirements. In the aspect of energy medium management, the company builds an energy management center, and realize the gas “zero release” from single equipment energy saving to system optimization energy saving. It uses blast furnace scum water waste heat to supply heating to plants and surrounding residential areas, hospitals, schools and other facilities, with the heating area covering more than 1.10 million square meters. The greenhouse gas Chinese Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) project is carried out with the successful development of 150MWCCPP power generation, thus making the company the first in China’s iron and steel industry and taking a crucial step in environmental management. Halt production and restricted production are implemented according to high standards to reduce emissions during the heavily-polluted days and completed the air quality assurance during major events such as APEC Summit and International Horticultural Expo. In the evaluation on the investigation and research of staggered peak production at the heating season in Tangshan from 2017 to 2018, the total score of Qian’an Iron and Steel Company ranked first among iron and steel enterprises. In the comprehensive evaluation of All-China Environment Federation, Qian’an Iron and Steel Company stood out and successfully won the honor of “Chinese Outstanding Environmental Protection Enterprise”.
