The Sintering Machine of Shougang Co., Ltd. Won the Champion Furnace

Recently, the results were announced of the 2016 “Benchmark Contest on Energy Saving and Consumption Reduction of Key National Large-scale Energy-consuming Steel Production Equipment” organized by China Machinery Metallurgy Building Materials Union and China Iron and Steel Industry Association, with the number of champion furnaces and superior furnaces being 7 and 28 representatively. While No. 2 blast furnace and No. 4 210-ton converter won the title of superior furnace, No. 7 360-square-meter sintering machine of Shougang Co., Ltd. won the title of champion furnace.

 Over the years, Shougang Co., Ltd. has actively promoted the work of energy saving and consumption reduction, taken energy management system as a starting point and continued to tackle major problems in the key energy-consuming unit organizations. Last year, in order to reduce capital occupation and cost of the 360-square-meter sintering machine, it implemented integrated iron and steel control before iron making, introduced cost-effective resources, established a database of the basic characteristics of slag sintering and a comprehensive evaluation mechanism for cost-effectiveness. To improve the principle of carbon matching, it reasonably added all kinds of solid waste, worked out a reasonable index for sinter ore ferrous, reduced the blast furnace under the sieve, researched on other topics and timely changed into results, thus making the Company remain its leading position in terms of energy indicators. In the aspect of energy consumption control of No. 2 blast furnace, remarkable results have been achieved by taking the measures of reducing energy consumption such as resuming furnace condition as soon as possible, improving high temperature wind technology, optimizing coal blending structure and increasing solid waste allocation. As to the energy saving and consumption reduction of No. 4 converter, in gas recovery, the operation method has been improved and the gas recovery parameters were adjusted to increase gas recovery; in steam recovery, the monitoring and overhaul of leaks have been strengthened, tail flue and track water quality have been replaced to increase steam recovery.

 It is reported that the annual “Benchmark Contest on Energy Conservation and Consumption Reduction of Key National Large-scale Energy-consuming Steel Production Equipment” co-organized by China Machinery Metallurgy Building Materials Union and China Iron and Steel Industry Association aims at enhancing the exchanges of the energy-saving technology and forming a healthy competition among steel enterprises and encouraging their initiative in energy saving and consumption reduction.
