Recently, the “Global Architecture Summit” hosted by Engineering News-Record (ENR) was held in New York, the United States. The Hawassa Industrial Park in Ethiopia, designed by Shougang International Trade & Engineering Corporation (CSGI), won the “Global Best Engineering Award” under the industrial category.

The Hawassa Industrial Park is the first industrial park project led by the Ethiopian government. Covering an area of 130 hectares with 52 modern factories, it’s the largest modernized light industrial textile park planned by the Ethiopian government and the first green industrial park in Africa with zero-emission. Now it has become a strength of Ethiopian diplomatic activities. Until now, many heads of state from Liberia, Sudan and other African countries have come to the park to learn the experience of industrialization in Ethiopia and spoken highly of the park’s design and construction.
