On September 16, 2017, Shougang Construction Group signed a contract with CATIC (UAE) Company for contracting the commercial-residential building project in Sharjah. This marks its fourth project successfully developed in the Middle East with the cooperation of CATIC, following the hangar and tarmac project for Ethiopian Airlines in 2013, the Sea Face Tower project on Al Reem Island in 2016 and the Abu Dhabi Theme Park project in 2017.

For this building project, UAE Al-Maghazi Realty Co., Ltd. will serve as its developer, UAE Building and Planning Group as its supervisor, and CATIC International Engineering Corporation (UAE) as its general contractor. The project is located in Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates, with a building area of about 63,000 square meters. The construction will take 790 days in total, with a total contract price of AED173.9 million (equivalent to RMB30,971,590,000).

The Sharjah Commercial-Residential Building Project is divided into four phases. This launch is its first phase, with 5 floors for at the base of the building and 26 floors for office and residence. It accommodates a shopping mall, parking space, a prayer room, an entertainment center for children, a leisure area, a swimming pool, residential floors and equipment floor, etc., with a maximum building eave height of 121m. Its underground construction involves a cistern, pile foundation and a bearing platform, with a total volume of 761.38 m3. Its exterior decoration is achieved by applying a curtain wall and cladding GRC panels. The building also contains three staircases and nine elevators on the inside.

The successful signing of the contract for the Sharjah Commercial-Residential Building project lays a solid foundation for the Shougang Construction Group for market development in the United Arab Emirates. Currently, relevant work is progressing in an orderly manner.
