On September 28, 100 well-known overseas Chinese leaders, talents in the high-end tech circle and well-known overseas Chinese businesspersons visited and inspected Shougang. Together with Li Changyuan, the Deputy Director of Beijing Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Li Deguang, the Chief of Technology and Talent Section of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Xie Jing, the Deputy Head of Shijingshan District, Beijing City, whom did Liang Jie, the leader of Shougang Group and the relevant department heads, warmly receive.

In Shougang Cultural Center, the overseas Chinese watched the “Advertising Video of the Innovation Center for the World’s Overseas Chinese Businessmen” and the “Advertising Video of the Beijing Workstation for Overseas Academics and Experts”. Persons in charge of Shougang’s fund company introduced information relevant to the pilot initiation zone of the Innovation Center for World’s Overseas Chinese Businessmen – “the Beijing Workstation for Overseas Academicians and Experts” (the former office building of Shougang).

The overseas Chinese came to visit the West-Ten Winter Olympics Plaza to listen to the introduction of its situation and they were full of praise for the natural environment, historical accumulation, industrial relics and cultural charm of Shougang’s old industrial area. Tian Wenying, the President of US National Organization of Chinese Women said, “We overseas Chinese have been living abroad for many years. After we came back, we find that the motherland has changed a lot, so we are very excited. Seeing that the industrial relics in Shougang Park is well-protected, made fully used after transformation and leisure, business and other districts are built to form a new landscape, I believe this is an innovation and the world will pay attention to Shougang. I hope Shougang can develop better in the future and the motherland is more powerful. We overseas Chinese will actively participate in the development and construction of the motherland and contribute our strength to the motherland.”

Xiao Lei, the Senior Medical Officer of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) said, “I was born and grew up in Beijing. During that era, one relative of my family was a steel worker in Shougang. I was very envious of his post in Shougang. I have been away from the motherland for more than 20 years. After going home, I feel the change of the motherland, of era and of Shougang. I feel every proud of this. Shougang is a great business and a comprehensive large enterprise group, which has not only developed its steel production, but also built a very beautiful park. Besides, I am a fan of the Shougang basketball team. Shougang, go for it.”

“The development of Shougang is unexpected, and every project under construction is very professional and well planned. Both the historical accumulation of industrial relics and the picturesque ecological environment are taken into account,” said Ke Yabo, the Vice President of the China Chamber of Commerce in Western Australia, “This is the precious wealth of Shougang. The hometown of Preston Zhang, the President of New Zealand Association of Beijing is in Shijingshan District, Beijing. He said, “It is nice to be home. I feel particularly excited to visit my hometown Shijingshan and Shougang this time. I feel touched, especially after I paid a visit to the West-Ten Winter Olympics Plaza. The development and construction of Shougang Park and the creative transformation of industrial plants are some awe-inspiring pioneering projects.
