On September 7, 2017, China (Mianyang) Science and Technology City International Science and Technology Expo, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the People’s Government of Mianyang City, was grandly opened at the Convention and Exhibition Center of Mianyang Science and Technology City. Jiangsu Capital Holdings Manufacturing Technology Co., Ltd., controlled by Shougang, brought its new generation of unmanned aerial vehicles for surveying and mapping named “Black Kite” to the expo, which attracted a lot of attention. 

The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for surveying and mapping called “Black Kite” is a very flexible UAV with six wings, and can be used for surveying and mapping of a local area or a building group. It does not only look very good, but it also functions very well. A modular design has been adopted for it and the vehicle is made of carbon fiber materials. It has a navigation control system with high safety, high efficiency, high stability and high intelligence. By equipping the system with different task devices, it can work well in a variety of different scenarios. It can easily complete many tasks such as urgent surveying and mapping, aerial photography, 3D modeling, archaeological sites, search, reconnaissance, electric survey and railway line patrol.  

On September 8, local governments and many famous domestic enterprises signed a series of cooperation agreements as planned by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province. It was an important part of the expo where Jiangsu Capital Holdings Manufacturing Technology Co., Ltd. and Chengdu Zongheng Automatics Co., Ltd. reached their strategic cooperation and signed relevant agreements. The vertical take-off and landing UAV of Chengdu Zongheng Automatics Co., Ltd. called “Roc” has been the favorite product of the surveying and mapping industry for a long time. It and Black Kite can complement each other’s weaknesses. The signing of the cooperation agreement marked the establishment of a long and stable cooperation relationship between the two parties. The two parties will conduct deep exchange and cooperation in product research and development, marketing, etc., relying on their own resource advantages, and provide better one-stop product solutions for the surveying and mapping industry.  

“Military and Civil Integration, Scientific and Technological Innovation, Openness and Cooperation” was the theme of the Mianyang expo. Over 40 countries and regions participated in the expo. There were four indoor exhibition halls, which were the Military and Civil Integration Hall, the High-tech Industry Hall, the Regional Cooperation Hall and the Scientific and Technological Talent Hall. There was one outdoor exhibition area. Over 700 domestic and foreign units participated in the expo as exhibitors, mainly exhibiting high-tech products in many fields such as electronic information, new materials, energy-efficiency, environment protection, high-end equipment manufacturing, biological medicine, aeronautic equipment and smart manufacturing.
