Recently, a delegation comprised of 7 experienced editors and reporters from American mainstream media has paid a visit to Shougang Beijing Park. Altogether 20 persons including relevant heads of Beijing News Comprehensive Liaison Office, Coordination Office of Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, New Shougang Office and Public Credit Office participated in the event. They were warmly received by relevant heads of Shougang Group Corporate Culture Department (Party Committee Publicity Department), Shougang Construction Investment Co., Ltd., Park Management Department, Park Service Company and Urban Transportation Company, etc.

The delegation visited the exhibition hall at the first floor of Tao Building, the sand table, Beijing Static Traffic Development Demonstration Base and Shougang No. 3 Blast Furnace and also climbed to the top of Shijing Mountain to overlook the whole view of the Park. Everywhere they went, reporters took pictures, made records and raised questions about issues of Shougang's development and construction and the coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Jointly organized by Beijing Foreign Publicity Leading Group Office and All-China Journalists Association, this activity was themed by "Supply-side Structural Reform in Beijing and Coordinated Development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region". In the activity, at the invitation of East and West Center, American famed reporters and editors visited Beijing and other cities. Delegation members included The Seattle Times, The Boston Globe, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Washington Post, NPR, NBC and experienced reporters and editors with influence in American press circles from East and West Center,, most of whom have received the famous awards such as the Pulitzer Prize, Burr Osborne Journalism Prize and DuPont-Columbia Journalism Awards.

As a high-end think tank founded by United States Congress in 1960s, East and West Center is influential in American press circles. Since 2008, All-China Journalists Association has begun to cooperate with East and West Center and invited American famed media professionals to visit China every year. Years of bilateral cooperation has made American press circles interpret China in a more objective manner, altered the report preference of American media on China and thus created a good public opinion atmosphere for the new Sino-American relationship.
