Shougang Group's biomass energy project has treated 3.236 million tons of waste and generated 961 million kWh of electricity in total, including 743 million kWh of on-grid electricity, with the smoke index detection pass rate of 100% during its four years’ of operation.

Located at Beijing Lujiashan Circular Economy (Venous Industry) Base, the biomass energy project of Shougang Group is the waste incineration power plant with the highest single unit capacity in the world. The project is the first to design and use steam extraction and condensing turbine generator unit. It is the first to apply the power generation bled steam air cooling technology in the project of power generation through waste incineration, which saves 80% water compared with traditional water cooling. It is the first to use the high salt water evaporation treatment technology of mechanical vapor compression (MVC), which truly realizes "zero discharge of wastewater" of waste incineration plant. It is the first to design and use the SCR denitration technology in the purification of incineration flue gas, with the flue gas emission index detection pass rate of 100%, which is significantly better than the emission standards of Beijing and the 2000/76/EU. The automatic garbage sorting equipment with bag breaking and sorting functions developed through independent innovation has received licencing of 7 national patents and realized the goals of generating power through waste incineration, turning waste into wealth and protecting the environment, which is extremely significant for Beijing's development and  city grade improvement.

The biomass energy project of Shougang Group has become a model in the waste treatment industry in China and has successively won the honorary titles of "Environmental Education Base" of Beijing, one of the first batch of "energy saving and environmental protection education demonstration bases of China Resource Recycling Association", "Beijing Advanced Unit in Spiritual Civilization", "Advanced Grass-roots Party Organization" of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Green Team of the 7th "Mother River Award", etc. It has received more than 14,200 visitors, received unanimous praise from all walks of life and generated great environmental, economic and social benefits. Compared with domestic and foreign waste incineration technologies, its overall technology has reached the international advanced level and has become a model in the waste treatment industry in China, with a broad value in application and promotion.

Relying on the demonstration role of this technological achievement and the biomass energy project of Shougang Group, Shougang Environment Industry Co., Ltd. actively explores the external waste incineration market. Currently, based on the whole set of incineration technologies, it has completed the formulation of preliminary design schemes of household garbage incineration projects such as 2 × 500 tons / day in Changzhi, Shanxi, 2 × 500 tons / day in Malaysia, 2 × 600 tons / day in Delhi, India, etc. In September 2016, it was invited to India to have in-depth discussions and exchanges with the investor on the incineration technology, which enhanced Shougang Environment's brand influence in the industry and laid the foundation for the external promotion and application of the waste disposal technology of Shougang Group.
