On June 9th, Beijing Shougang Basketball Club held a press conference and officially announced the appointment of Min Lulei as head coach of the club and leader of men's basketball team. He would be in charge of overall system construction work of men’s and women’s basketball team and be responsible for the management of men's basketball team. The club also appointed Yannis Christopoulos as the head coach of Beijing Shougang Men's Basketball Team.

Born in 1974, Yannis has coached many basketball teams in Europe and accumulated rich experience in coaching. He has coached Greek top teams Olympiakos and Cyprus Apollo, German team Bayern Munich and other basketball teams. During the time when Giannakis was coaching China's national basketball team, Yannis, as an assistant coach, was responsible for training the team's technical and tactical skills. In 2015, Yannis worked with Gong Luming and won the FIBA Asia championship in Changsha.

Yannis will work hand in glove with Min Lulei to win glory for the city through hard work.
