Steel Structure Company, a branch of Beijing Shougang Construction Group Co., Ltd., has seized the opportunity to continuously increase the development intensity of the social market based on the actual situation of its development. Recently, it has successfully signed up the first batch of prefabricated substation pilot projects in Beijing —Mentougou Wangping 110kV substation project.

    The prefabricated substation is a transformation of substation construction, which changes the electrical layout, structure design and construction mode of traditional substations. It isbuilt through the construction form of prefabricated structure in two stages (factory prefabrication, and site installation and assembly), which greatly shortens the design and construction periods, reduces its area, and conserves land resources. As the principle of "being resource-saving, environmentally-friendly, andindustrialized" is promoted by the State Grid Corporation, prefabrication will become a new way of constructing substations in China in the future.

    The 110kV substation successfully tendered for by Beijing Shougang Construction Group Co., Ltd., is located in the southwest of Wangping Village, Mentougou District, Beijing City. It is an unmanned intelligent substation with three voltage levels of 110kV, 35kV and 10kV. It is 98 meters long from east to west, and 50 meters wide from south to north. The designed area is 4,900 square meters. The main structure adopts the composite steel frame structure of steel columns and beams, which are both made in an H-type steel factory (using the modern equipment of 3D NC drilling machine and H-type sawing machine to ensure the installation accuracy) and will be installed on site (connected by high-strength bolts); steel bar truss decks are applied to roof and floor panels so that there isno need for scaffolding on site; 100mm-thick rock wool four-side matched sandwich al - mg - mn external wall panels are used for the prefabricated enclosing wall, which is produced in a factory and installed on site directly on the wall purlins.

    The project has been officially launched so far. In the process of construction, Beijing Shougang Construction Group Co., Ltd. will take standardization as the main starting point, complete the project in a well-organized, high standard, and high quality manner,and improve general design, general cost, general equipment, and standard techniques to achieve optimization, beautification, and simplification,in an effort to make it a model project of first-class quality. At the same time, the group will explore new models, methods, and ways to make such projectsefficient, controllable, standard, energy saving, environmentally-friendly, and economical.
