Release Time:2017-03-29 13:49:52

Recently, news came from the BE The Year In Infrastructure 2016 Conference held in London, UK that the ‘BIM Technology Application of Xishi Winter Olympics Square Project of Shougang Industrial Area Transformation’ selected and submitted by the BIM technical team of Beijing Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (BSIET) has been selected for the BE Inspired Awards.

The project submitted by BSIET this time is in the charge of its civil construction business division, and the survey and mapping division, information networks division, technology quality division and Beijing Shougang Design Metallurgical Technology Co., Ltd.  formed a team to solve technological problems and make collaborative efforts. The team fully mobilized and made use of all kinds of resources and power, took the complete flow of BIM organization, application and management as the starting point, overcame such adverse factors as deficiencies in industrial and civil standard conditions, no referential experience in the complete flow of software application and integration, a wide range of data and a large number of domains, units and divisions involved, creatively put forward ‘one source and many dimensions’, the concept for the organization and management of documents and data, and realized the trial integration and application of the BIM model and data in all domains, thereby greatly improving the application value of the BIM model and data in this project. The successful application of this technology has not only won the recognition and support of the owner’s units, but has also explored a feasible technological path for the BIM technology application of BSIET and laid a foundation for better serving the development, design and construction of the Shougang Area.

Enterprises and social organizations from 80 countries and regions in the world have submitted more than 300 projects for selection, and 10 independent panels of judges made up of well-known industry experts have appraised and selected 54 as the finalists, which were then divided into 18 groups to compete for the final awards including structure, construction, roads, bridges, electric power, land development, plants, railways, water-related affairs, manufacturing, ocean, mining and so on. Finally, seven projects from the Chinese mainland including the ‘Xishi Winter Olympics Square Project of Shougang Industrial Area Transformation’ of BSIET were selected for the final.

Established by Bentley in 2004, the BE Inspired Awards are important awards of great influence in the engineering sector, and honored as the ‘Academy Awards’ of the engineering sector in the BIM industry. These awards are designed to commend the outstanding contributions made by Bentley users in the promotion of the design, construction and operation of global infrastructure.
