Shougang Construction has successfully completed major political tasks many times. It shone brilliantly in the construction of Beijing, the only city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, undertaking the R&D, production and installation of the main torch for the 2008 Summer Olympics, and the construction, operation and maintenance of the central stage for the opening and closing ceremonies, “Big Air Shougang” and several ice and snow competition and training venues for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Taking the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and the national development strategy of the "Belt and Road Initiative" (BRI) as opportunities, and fulfilling the overall requirements of the Shougang Group to build an urban comprehensive service provider, Shougang Construction played an important role in the unprecedented relocation of Shougang’s steel mills and built the "DreamWorks" factories of Shougang Jingtang and Qian'an Iron and Steel which feature a new generation of recyclable steel demonstration processes in China. Practicing the strategy of the BRI, Shougang’s builders have carefully crafted landmark structures such as airports, steel mills, sewage plants, water purification plants, roads and residences in Angola, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Algeria and other countries.

Adhering to being driven by innovation and paying attention to technological innovation and excellent quality, Shougang Construction has won the "China Construction Engineering Luban Prize", the highest national construction engineering award, for many consecutive years, including for the construction of the three major steel bases of Qian'an, Qinhuangdao and Jingtang. The elaborately built Big Air Shougang Project and Shougang Jingtang Multi-mode Full Continuous Casting and Rolling Production Line Project both won the Luban Prize in 2022, marking the breakthrough of winning two Luban Prizes in the same year.
