On February 1st, 2023, the press conference of the "Series of Activities to Mark the First Anniversary of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022" was held at the press conference hall of the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal Government. The launch ceremony will be held at the Shougang Ice Hockey Hall on the evening of February 4th, 2023. Meanwhile, colorful activities such as the Ice and Snow Carnival will be organized at Shougang Park.

Fu Xiaohui, Secretary General of the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Association and Director of the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Center, highlighted the launch ceremony at the conference. The launch ceremony consists of three parts: “Re-burning Ice & Snow”, “Inheriting the Spirit of the Beijing Winter Olympics” and “Together for a Shared Future”. The new logo of the Beijing Olympic Museum will also be unveiled at the ceremony.

Liang Jie, Deputy General Manager of the Shougang Group, said at the conference that Shougang had seized a great opportunity throughout the Winter Olympics cycle, planned the urban space, built three out of five districts, realized the interconnection between municipal energy systems such as water, heat and electricity, and major municipal infrastructure, and constructed a number of space carriers. Shougang was also the biggest beneficiary of the Beijing Winter Olympics. In the post-Winter Olympics period, it has formulated the task list of industrial revival and vitality revival in Shougang Park. Shougang has made good sustainable use of Winter Olympics heritage and given it new content and vitality; promoted industrial revival around the "science and technology+" and "sports+" industries determined by the Municipal Party Committee and Government; and promoted the experience of sports culture in Shougang Park based on the construction of an international consumption center.

Big Air Shougang is a blessed place where Chinese athletes won "double gold medals". One million people have visited since the Winter Olympics ended. Shougang has added a Winter Olympics exhibition hall here and developed naked-eye 3D images of Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon, enabling visitors to experience Winter Olympics culture in person. Events such as the China TV "Flying Apsaras Awards" and "Starlight Awards" have been recently held at the Shougang Ice Hockey Hall. During the Spring Festival, activities such as the "Winter Carnival" were also held at Big Air Shougang to make good sustainable use of Winter Olympics heritage.

Currently, Shougang Park has become a gathering area for Beijing's Sci-Fi industry, as well as industry clusters for subsectors such as web3.0 and artificial intelligence. The China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) and China Science Fiction Conference have also settled here. To date, more than 200 enterprises and merchants in related fields have settled, making Shougang Park a new innovative industrial hub in the west of Beijing that serves the core functions of the capital well. The Metaverse Pavilion, Shougang Shangri-La Hotel and Shougang's optimized apartments in the Park have also become very influential brands in the field of micro-vacation and business travel in the west of Beijing.

A series of colorful activities were organized at Shougang Park in line with the "Series of Activities to Mark the First Anniversary of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022". The ice and snow carnival themed "Meet at Big Air and Enjoy the Winter Carnival" was held at Big Air Shougang. The event area covered about 20,000 m2 with 19 amusement facilities, and could accommodate more than 1,000 people and received a maximum of 3,000 people per day, continuing the ice and snow heat. The "Show Ice Rink" was set up in Xiuchi area, covering an area of about 32,000 m2 and capable of accommodating 500 people on the ice at one time. A two-man ice cart competition was specially designed. The Winter Olympic-themed photography exhibition, night tour of Qunming Lake, lantern guessing, etc. were carried out at Qunming Lake. Visitors could enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Park and experience traditional Chinese culture and Winter Olympics culture. Meanwhile, all merchants in Shougang Park launched a series of preferential activities to provide citizens with the experience of "eating, living, traveling, touring, shopping and enjoying" during the Spring Festival consumption season.

It is understood that February 4th this year marked the first anniversary of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. The "Series of Activities to Mark the First Anniversary of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022", with the theme "Extraordinary Road to the Winter Olympics, Together for a Shared Future", was organized in the three competition areas of Beijing and Zhangjiakou of the Beijing Winter Olympics from February to March 2023. This event mainly included the launch ceremony, "Brilliant Winter Olympics" themed exhibition and mass ice and snow sports carnival, commemorating the first anniversary of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Paralympics, etc.
