With this recognition, Shougang Cold Rolling becomes the third "Lighthouse Factory" in China's steel industry and the seventh worldwide.

Shougang Cold Rolling has leveraged cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies, including artificial intelligence, 5G, and industrial robots, to drive digital transformation and smart manufacturing. It has been recognized with honors such as "Beijing Smart Factory," "Beijing Smart Manufacturing Benchmark Enterprise," "National Smart Manufacturing Benchmark Enterprise," and one of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's first batch of "Excellent Smart Factories." In announcing the "Lighthouse Factory" list, the World Economic Forum highlighted Shougang Cold Rolling's response to the complex challenges of high-end automotive manufacturing, including stricter quality demands and diversified product specifications. The company deployed 67 Industry 4.0 digital application cases, 61% of which utilize AI. These efforts have enhanced end-to-end process control precision, eliminated bottlenecks in key areas of quality and production capacity, and addressed customer-facing quality challenges.

The production line efficiency has increased by 21.2 percentage points, the product defect rate has decreased by 35 percentage points, sales of high-end products have grown by 36 percentage points, and customer complaints have dropped by 55 percentage points. Over the years, Shougang Cold Rolling has vigorously advanced its Lighthouse Factory initiative, supported by over a dozen Industry 4.0 technologies and a focus on cultivating digital talent, which enables seamless connectivity from upstream to downstream and ensures the implementation of digital application scenarios.

Intelligent quality management: By deploying 18 scenarios that utilize advanced technologies such as big data, knowledge graphs, and AI, the company has achieved precise quality control, shifting from post-production quality control to pre- and in-process control and reducing annual quality-related losses by over 20 million yuan.

Smart production planning: AI technology is applied to develop a comprehensive, full-process intelligent production planning and scheduling system, which has reduced transition materials and extended the rolling period of the process.

Automated control of production processes: An intelligent model has been established to enable intelligent control of key equipment, enhancing consistency in quality control, with a model adoption rate exceeding 95%.

Predictive equipment maintenance: A digital equipment management and predictive maintenance platform has been implemented, connecting over 1,200 pieces of equipment, resulting in a 37% reduction in unplanned downtime.

Smart warehousing and logistics: Smart warehousing, intelligent scheduling, RGV transport, and outbound delivery systems in the warehouse area have been developed to enable the automation and intelligentization of in-plant logistics, improving outbound efficiency by 15 percentage points.

Intelligent energy and environmental protection: An IoT-based energy and environmental protection system enables the real-time collection and early warning of energy statistics and environmental protection online data of steel coils, supporting professional and refined management and control.

Automation and safety in hazardous positions: This initiative has boosted production efficiency while achieving a fundamental transformation in workplace safety.
