Recently, three flat-bed trucks loaded with autoclaved blocks slowly drove out of Qian’an Gas Plate Factory and boarded a container ship from Tianjin New Port to Colombo, Sri Lanka, for the structure construction of THEONE, the first project in Sri Lanka covering the luxury five-star hotel Marriott International Ritz-Carlton, as well as luxury apartments, luxury goods stores and high-end office buildings. This move marks the first export of autoclaved aerated plates made by Shougang to Southeast Asia to serve the urban construction of the countries along the “Belt and Road”.

In recent years, in response to the state call to develop green assembly buildings and enhance the comprehensive service capacities of the city, Shougang Construction Group aimed at the developmental direction of green assembly buildings, invested a lot of manpower and funds, and carried out in-depth technical R & D. In February 2017, an area of 12,000 square meters was invested and built as a “Shougang assembly building R & D display Base” with functions of product R & D, technology experiments, process demonstrations, BIM technology application and product promotions; in November 2017, it was awarded the title of the first batch of “national assembly building industry base” by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; in July 2018, the Qian’an assembly building products base invested by Shougang Construction Group was officially put into operation, forming a complete industrial chain of technology R & D construction, parts manufacturing and supply.

This block order for Sri Lanka project is the first export of autoclaved aerated concrete products of Shougang. The models are mainly divided into two categories: 600 *200 *100 and 600 *200 *200, totaling more than 5,000 cubic meters. This type of concrete block is a new lightweight and porous building material, which has the advantages of light weight, good thermal insulation, processability, non-combustion, etc. It can be made into blocks, plates and thermal insulation products of different specifications. Widely used in the enclosure and filling structures of industrial and civil buildings, it has attracted the general attention of the construction industry all over the world and has become a kind of construction material strongly promoted and developed in many countries. Until now, Beijing Shougang Construction (Qian’an) Assembly Building Products Co., Ltd. of Shougang Construction Group has produced over 50,000 cubic meters of autoclaved aerated plates and blocks. The products have been applied to the construction of many new projects in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and surrounding areas, such as Daxing International Airport Living Support Base and Daxing Taihe Central Plaza, Beijing.
