Recently, led by Shougang Environment, the scientific and technological achievement of “technical equipment and application of full resource utilization of construction waste” was jointly completed by Beijing Shougang Resources Company, China  Architecture Design & Research Group and other units. It passed the appraisal of the expert appraisal committee organized by the Chines e Society for Environmental Sciences. Experts agreed that the achievement as a whole reached the international advanced level.

Construction waste, known as the inexhaustible “urban mineral deposit”, is a valuable resource that can be recycled and reused to realize resource conversion and reduction disposal. After years of intensive cultivation, Shougang Environment Resources Company has gradually formed the technology and management operation experience of construction waste resource disposal. The recycled aggregates produced are widely used in many projects, such as building concrete, roadbed, river water treatment, sliced wall and landscaping, which have strong market competitiveness and development prospect.

At present, more than ten kinds of recycled aggregates and eight series of recycled products have been developed and successfully applied to more than 100 projects such as municipal roads, highways and structures. Among them, the key demonstration projects include Innovation Research Demonstration Center of China Architecture Design & Research Group, National Speed Skating Pavilion, Beijing-Kaifeng Expressway, Water Drying Pool East Road, Winter Olympics Xishi Square and so on. The research and implementation of this scientific and technological achievement has played a good role in promoting the development construction waste resource disposal facilities and the popularization and application of recycled products in Beijing, leading the green building materials and the healthy development of the construction industry in China.

In the process of project development, construction and operation, Shougang Environment has accumulated rich practical experience and has an excellent technical team which has the ability to provide complete sets of solutions. In 2014, the first demonstration production line in Beijing, Shougang Shijingshan District Construction Waste Resource Disposal Project, was completed and put into operation, which provides support for the development and construction of Shougang Park. In 2018, the in-situ modular construction waste resource disposal project in Shougang Tongzhou District was completed and put into operation, which provides services for the construction of sub-center of Beijing City. Since the two production lines were put into production, a total of 2.3 million tons of construction waste have processed.

Shougang Environment is committed to creating an integrated environmental service provider that provides users with customized urban solid waste solutions of full cycle, full process and full featured. In recent years, Shougang Resources Company has made great efforts to practice the industrial development layout of Shougang Environment, shifting from the original enterprise of metallurgical solid waste disposal to enterprise of urban solid waste resource disposal. As a supporting project of demolition construction waste resource disposal in Shougang Park, 8.63 square kilometers of construction waste from demolition in Shougang Park was disposed of and reused in situ, and zero discharge was achieved. Since 2011, based on the demand of construction waste disposal in Shougang Park, it has systematically studied the construction waste disposal technology and equipment, and the application technology of recycled products. It has undertaken the state-owned capital management budget scientific and technological innovation and scientific research platform of Beijing Municipal SASAC, innovation ability enhancement plan project of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing transportation industry science and technology project, the special project of “green building and building industrialization” in the national key research and development program of the “13th Five-year Plan”, Beijing Capital Design and Promotion Project and other R & D projects. Its scientific and technological achievements have been awarded the China Construction Science and Technology Award, Shijingshan Science and Technology Award and Shougang Science and Technology Award. It has undertaken or participated in the preparation of two standards, and obtained 3 patent licenses.
