On May 21, the exchange meeting of German Bauhaus-Universität’s Journey in China was held in Shougang Park. Professor Bernd Rudolf, the Dean of the Faculty of Urban planning and Architecture of German Bauhaus-Universität, relevant leaders, students and staff of Bauhaus-Universität, and 50-odd relevant experts and scholars from the construction industry participated.

The exchange meeting was held under the theme of “100-Year-Old Bauhaus - The Common Wealth of Human Progress and Innovation”, “100-Year-Old Shougang - A Great Enterprise in the Great Times”. After the conference, the professors of Bauhaus-Universität, relevant experts and scholars from the construction industry and Shougang’s relevant personnel held a roundtable forum.

Before the meeting, the participants visited the exhibition hall on the first floor of Tao Pavilion, No. 3 blast furnace and National Winter Sports Training Center.

Bauhaus is a university of architecture and product design founded in Germany in the early 20th century. It was established on March 20, 1919 after the merger of the original Academy of Fine Arts and Saxon Grand Ducal Art School. Bauhaus is also the first university in the world to be fully established for the development of modern design education, which has created a new era for design education in the industrial age.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Bauhaus-Universität and Shougang, they jointly held this exchange meeting and hoped that the exchange meeting would be an opportunity to greatly promote the exchanges and cooperation between 100-year-old Bauhaus and 100-year-old Shougang. I will effectively promote the innovative and creative achievements of 100-year-old Bauhaus in Shougang Park and the integrative development of the construction China’s modern design basic education system and the integeration of Bauhaus’s ideas, concepts and spirits to make Shougang Park become a new landmark of capital urban revitalization in a new era city with global influence.
