On December 26, “Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application” built jointly by Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Administrative Committee and Shougang Group held the start-up ceremony in Shougang Park, and officially unveiled. Xu Zhijun, Deputy Secretary-general of Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, Yu Hong, Manager of Technology Department; Zhai Lixin, Deputy Secretary and Director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee; Liu Hang, Deputy Inspector; Zhou Xisong, Deputy Head of Shijingshan District; Zhang Gongyan, Shougang Group Party Secretary, Chairman and General Manager, Deputy General Manager Liang Jie and other leaders, as well as relevant responsible comrades from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the City New Shougang Office, attended the ceremony to unveil Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application and witness the signing of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Administrative Committee and Shougang Group, and announced the establishment of committee of experts for Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application to guide Shougang AI Park construction.

Shougang cooperated with Zhongguancun Administrative Committee to build Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application, which is the implementation of the state’s decision plan on the development of a new generation of artificial intelligence and the directive of the municipal party committee and municipal government to create a “new landmark of capital city revitalization in the new era” for new Shougang area, as well as a powerful measure to advance the “Guiding Opinion on Accelerating Science and Technology Innovation to Cultivate Artificial Intelligence Industry in Beijing” and the “Action Plan (2017-2020) for Artificial Intelligence Industry Cultivation in Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone”. The construction of Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application will help new Shougang area to change its development mode, change its growth power, speed up the cultivation of new industries, and open a new chapter in industrial transformation and upgrading to become a banner of China’s traditional industry transformation and development.

The site for first phase of Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application was selected at Shougang Park Sports Center (2,000 square meters) and power plant (4,000 square meters). Subsequently, it is planned to select no less than 200,000 square meters of space for phased construction in Jinanqiao in Shougang Park, urban darning innovation workshop, etc. The two sides will, around such aspects as artificial intelligence infrastructure, open innovation platform of artificial intelligence, demonstration project of innovative application of artificial intelligence, assistance to Winter Olympics of Science and Technology, and acceleration of resource agglomeration of artificial intelligence industry, facing the fields of Winter Olympics of Science and Technology, autonomous driving, intelligent robots, intelligent manufacturing and service, construction of intelligent parks, etc., promote the establishment of a number of demonstration application projects, transform a number of artificial intelligence innovation achievements, serve a number of real economic enterprises, and develop a number of industry applied artificial intelligence innovation enterprises in the area of 2.91 square kilometers in the North District of Shougang Park.

Zhang Gongyan first made a speech, expressing gratitude to people’s long-term care, support and help to Shougang. He said: “Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application is a concrete embodiment of Shougang’s creation of a new landmark of capital city revitalization in the new era, and another major achievement since Shougang and Zhongguancun Administrative Committee implemented strategic cooperation in 2014. Looking forward to working with more partners for common development, we will do a good job for the park enterprises to ensure services and accelerate the work to create a new landmark of capital city revitalization in the new era.

Xu Zhijun congratulated Shougang Group and Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Administrative Committee on their cooperation in the construction of Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application. He said that Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application will become an important platform for artificial intelligence technology transformation and hatching applications, as well as one of the docking platforms for artificial intelligence enterprises to participate in the preparation of the Winter Olympics. The Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee will actively provide the application scene and strive to build a platform for enterprises to participate in the Olympic Games, serve the Olympic Games, do a good job of service, and form a win-win situation between the development of enterprises and the preparation of the Winter Olympic Games.

Zhai Lixin said: “At present, the artificial intelligence industry has entered an important stage of development. The construction of Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application has attracted outstanding artificial intelligence enterprises and research institutions at home and abroad to go deep to explore the demand. The targeted development of innovative applications is an important measure to promote the implementation of innovative applications in the artificial intelligence industry, and has great significance to promote the development of Beijing’s artificial intelligence industry, drive Shougang to build a new landmark of capital city revitalization in the new era, and serve Beijing Winter Olympics. At the same time, it is necessary to further improve the station, strengthen top-level planning, and create an international first-class business environment so as to ‘help’ projects, ‘support’ by funds, ‘guide’ by policies, and ‘protect’ rights and interests, and continuously improve the service level of enterprises and the management level of the park”.

At the ceremony site, Liu Hang and Liang Jie signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of the two sides. Beijing Megvii  Co., Ltd., UISEE Technologies Bei jing Co., Ltd., Beijing Yunji Technolo gy Co., Ltd, Shenzhen UBTEC H, IDG Capital Investment Consultant (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Beijing Yingnuo Changshen g Investment Management Co., Ltd. and other enterprises signed with Beijing Shougang Const ruction Investment Co., Ltd., becoming the first group of enterprises in the park.

The responsible person of Beijing Shougang Construction Investment Co., Ltd. introduced the construction plan of Zhongguancun (Shougang) Industrial Park for Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application, the responsible person of the relevant department of Zhongguancun Administrative Committee issued the supporting policy, and the president of Megvii, AI enterprise representative spoke.

At the ceremony site, more than 20 artificial intelligence companies demonstrated computer vision, speech recognition and semantic understanding, intelligent robots, autonomous driving, ultra-high-definition video and other innovative applications.

In the future, face recognition technology will cover intelligent buildings in the park, autopilot and intelligent network service technology will be widely used in intelligent transportation in the park, hotel service robots will actually serve intelligent hotels in the park; AI robot technology will provide intelligent security, intelligent manufacturing and other services for Shougang intelligent park; at the same time, many industrial funds will also be actively injected into the park’s artificial intelligence industry to explore ways to serve Shougang Park and ensure the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games in the future. The park will become a new site for the research and application of artificial intelligence technology in Beijing.
