The Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing in 2022. This is the second year of BTV’s countdown gala salutes the six-year ice and snow them project of the Winter Olympics. This is the second year. The theme is “Time Together Across the Strait, a New Chapter of Ice and Snow.” This countdown ceremony breaks through the traditional stage model, selects Beijing, Heilongjiang, Hebei and other landmarks and comprehensively creates a variety of scenes, putting the ice and snow elements throughout the ceremony, based on the Olympic theme and snow and ice visual differentiation. Among them, Beijing Shougang Park is one of the venues for recording the gala.

The gala sets up the venue in the “big bowl” area at the center of Xiuchi. The bright lights outline the profile of Xiuchi, and the changing highlights shine directly to the stage. When the music sounds, the melody of rock and the sparks of the three magnificent blast furnaces at the side of the stage ignite the enthusiasm of the spectators in this cold winter day. At this moment, with ice and snow, rock and steel in perfect harmony, Shougang once again demonstrates to the public the charm of Beijing Park’s efforts to create a new landmark for the city’s revitalization.

According to the requirements of the gala site, Beijing Shougang C onstruction Investment Co., Ltd., after draining the water in the “big bowl” area of Xiuchi, first carried out the load test, planned the stage construction and distributed the bearing area. Subsequently, according to the special geographical location of Xiuchi, the company planned the path for guests and spectators to enter and built safe passages. At the same time, according to the gala lighting and 750-kilowatt power demand, Beijing Shougang Construction Investment Co., Ltd. organized the construction units to integrate cable facilities to guarantee the power supply. In addition, the company carried out unified renovation on the surrounding environment of Xiuchi, and completed the surrounding construction projects ahead of schedule. On the day of recording, Beijing Shougang Construction Investment Co., Ltd. organized the construction units to carry out special duty and regular inspection to the distribution cabinets, to ensure the normal operation of the power supply system, and to give full support to the safety evacuation, fire control inspection and other aspects.
