Shougang was awarded the highest grade of “A+” for its strong comprehensive competitiveness of iron and steel enterprise in 2018 at the “China’s and Global Iron and Steel Demand Forecasting Research Results for 2019 & Rating Conference on the Competitiveness of Iron and Steel Enterprises” organized by China Metallu rgical Industry Planning and Research Institute. 

The year 2018 is the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up, and a crucial year for Shougang to promote the “13th Five-Year” Plan and to welcome the connecting link of 100-year history of establishment. Over the past year, Shougang Iron and Steel Part has complied with the demand of supply-side structural reform, continuously enhanced the market main body consciousness, quality awareness, and exerted efforts to promote quality change, efficiency change, power change, stimulate new vitality, and enhance competitiveness, which promoted the iron and steel industry to the direction of high quality development. Shougang has kept scientific and technological innovation and product leading in an important position, grasped the new trend of iron and steel industry accurately, improved R & D efficiency as a breakthrough, taken market as the guide, speeded up major scientific and technological innovation, and further optimized the structure of iron and steel products. The market share of automotive plate, electrical steel, tinplate and other strategic products has reached the top three in the country, 9 products have been first launched at home and abroad. Among them, 2 electrician steel products are the first batch in the world, and 7 new products such as high-strength automobile plate are the first batch in China.

Enterprise competitiveness is the direct embodiment of comprehensive productivity and service ability. It is reported that in 2018, comprehensive competitiveness rating of iron and steel enterprises was divided into 3 major parts, 14 elements and 23 indicators, which constructed the framework of standard index system. The total crude steel output of the 108 iron and steel enterprises that entered the rating this time accounted for 88% of the total national output. 13 enterprises were also awarded the highest grade of “A+”, such as Baow u, HBIS Gr oup, Shagang, and Angang.
