Recently, the research results of the “China Steel Enterprise Patent Innovation Index”, jointly released by the Metallurgical Information and Standards Institute and the i Think Tank College of the Intellectual Property Publishing House, show that five steel enterprises, including Shougang, have scored more than 80 points and become the most patented and innovative enterprises. The Shougang Group adheres to the innovation drive, actively implements the concepts of innovation and development, and is committed to technology and management innovation. In the key products and technology areas of automobile plates, pipeline steel, weathering steel, electrical steel, high-strength steel and converter-less slag smelting, we have cultivated numerous innovative technologies with core competitiveness and independent intellectual property rights. The patent output capacity has continued to increase, the volume has increased, the quality has been continuously improved, and the effect has continued to appear.

In recent years, Shougang has been awarded the title of “Beijing Advanced Patent Work Unit” several times, and was awarded the first batch of “Beijing Patent Work Demonstration Unit”. In 2016, it was recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as “the benchmark for the application of intellectual property rights in industrial enterprises”. In 2017, it was awarded “National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise” by the National Intellectual Property Administration. Up to now, Shougang has applied for 6,142 patents, including 3,514 invention patents; it has received 3,930 national patents, including 1,727 invention patents; and more than 80% of patented technologies have been implemented and promoted. Three patents won the “China Patent Gold Award”, 13 patents won the “China Patent Excellence Award”, and 4 patents won the “Beijing Invention Patent Award”.
