In the process of collaborative management of the project, Shougang people integrated the high-quality resources of the Group so that all members of the Group could participate in the construction of Hierro Peru Project widely, promoted the relevant industries of the Group, and realized the integration of overseas engineering equipment supply gradually.

In the procurement of equipment, CSGI insisted on ensuring equipment quality, reducing procurement costs, strengthening process control and establishing the principle of group brand throughout the project. The key links of the CSGI project team coordinated and optimized the organizational model, changed the model of overseas one-stop engineering and improved the efficiency of project operation. From the overall situation, CSGI independently faced 33 domestic and foreign suppliers and independently completed the bidding and evaluation organization. CSGI completed 65 batches of manufacturing and shipping work of 131,000 pieces of equipment, steel structure and material with a total weight of 38,000 tons and a total volume of 135,000 cubic meters. And the equipment production rate had reached 90%, effectively saving equipment procurement costs of more than 60 million yuan. In addition, in order to ensure that the relevant on-site service personnel arrived at the site in time according to the needs of the site, CSGI and Shougang Hierro Peru cooperated closely. During the project construction period, they completed a total of 76 iterations of visa application procedures for Chinese suppliers’ installation guidance personnel to go to Peru. Shou-Rong of CSGI took the opportunity of Hierro Peru New District to restart general cargo shipping business and actively participated in the logistics supply of the Hierro Peru desalination and concentrator project, completing 92 tickets with the total transportation volume exceeding 140,000 cubic meters, and 16,505 individual packages. The maximum volume of a single package was 385 cubic meters, and the maximum weight of a single package was 84.5 tons. In addition to conventional container transportation, it also transported 110,000 cubic meters and about 5,400 pieces of groceries from Tianjin Port and Shanghai Port respectively, which not only expanded the scope of transportation but also trained the work team.

Mining Corporation of Shougang integrated internal resources, and organized Mining Construction, Xieli and Equipment Structure Companies and the machinery plant to jointly undertake the task of producing nearly 20,000 tons of steel structures for the dressing plant and desalination of seawater. This was the first time for Mining Corporation to undertake a large-scale overseas construction project, undertake a large-scale steel structure production task, and break through the technical constraints of American standards. Mining Corporation regarded it as a key project to expand overseas markets, quickly set up a construction working group, and formulated strict implementation plans. Working together on the steel structure project of Hierro Peru not only trained the team and accumulated achievements, but also laid a foundation for the subsequent expansion of the Hierro Peru market. In order to further improve the synergistic benefit of the Group, they maximized the use of Shougang self-produced materials and bought more than 11,000 tons of steel plate from the Group.

The steel structure project of Shougang Hierro Peru New District mainly includes 8 workshops, including the main plant workshop, filtration workshop, high-pressure roller mill workshop, screening workshop and original mine warehouse, and steel structure fabrication for supporting seawater desalination system. There are 16,183 components in the main plant workshop alone. Many “first-time” cases had brought a lot of pressure and challenge to the high-quality, high-speed completion of the production task. The Mining Cooperation was managed by Shougang Mine Construction Engineering Co., LTD, and all the management level and on-site staff made promises. During the construction, the Mining Cooperation’s cadres and workers engaged, worked hard together, and strove to overcome the technical difficulties. 19,320 tons of high-quality steel structure products built a “strong steel frame” for the new mill plant across the ocean.

Shougang Integrity Supervision Company carried out quality control on the equipment manufacturing of the suppliers, dispatched technical force to supervise and monitor all aspects of equipment manufacturing, and timely grasped the manufacturing schedule, supply cycle and equipment manufacturing quality, which greatly saved and improved the supervision manufacture resources and supervision capabilities.

Shougang Automation Information Technology Co., Ltd. took the lead in organizing the automatic control project of the ore dressing plant undertaken by itself and Dandong Dongfang Measurement & Control Technology Co., Ltd., which not only recognized the gap in the field of ore dressing automation, but also accumulated experience and laid the foundation for the later integrated service.

Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. undertook the EP project of the seawater desalination project and accumulated experience in opening the South American market.

In the procurement of equipment in Hierro Peru New District, CSGI and Mining Cooperation actively explored, made great efforts to innovate and made full use of information technology, explored the use of QR code on the steel structure that required a large amount of assembly. By “scanning” the QR code with a mobile phone, information such as logos and Chinese-Western comparisons became clear at a glance, which greatly improved the equipment installation and construction identification and improved the efficiency of construction and installation.

In the construction of the Hierro Peru New District Project, the Group leaders were personally dispatched, the professional departments actively coordinated, and the participating units cooperated and worked efficiently, playing an important role in project design, steel structure manufacturing, equipment supply, automation control and other aspects, driving the many units of the Group to go abroad, strengthening the internal coordination ability of the Group, creating a new construction model of Shougang's overseas engineering projects while training the team and laying a solid foundation for the development of the Peruvian market.
