A few days ago, Beijing Shougang Construction Group Co., Ltd. attended on invitation the awarding ceremony of the 6th “Longtu Cup” National BIM Competition of China Graphics Society and received the award as the winner of “the First Prize of the Construction Team.” 

Based on various relevant information and data of construction engineering projects, BIM is real information acquired through the digital simulation of the building’s data. Through the three-dimensional architecture model, BIM is able to perform, among others, the functions such as engineering supervision, property management, equipment management, digital processing, engineering management. Since the foundation of the BIM center in 2015, Shougang Group, on the principle of “being pragmatic, innovative and practical,” has been committed to studying the application value of BIM technologies during the construction stage. After over three years’ exploration and promotion, BIM, led by Shougang Construction Group, has been equipped with mature application ability and application system. The award-winning work of Shougang Construction Group in the competition takes as the theme “BIM construction integrated technology application of steel structure assembled residence of Shougang” and mainly shows the applications of wise construction, pipeline integration, visual intention illustration, deepening design, two-dimension code, collaborative management and others in the real project, which  elaborates the application of BIM in the construction stage of assembled residence. Especially, the fine management application of assembled components through the two-dimension code technology even takes lead in the same industry all over the country.

As one of the two biggest BIM professional competitions highly recognized in China, “Longtu Cup” National BIM Competition has been successfully held for six occasions. There was a total of 493 units, 6,202 participants and 761 works in this competition, representing the highest level of BIM technology management in China. After the preliminary assessment, review, defense session, result announcement and other parts, the project of Shougang Construction Group won the first award of this year’s BIM competition, which proves that the development direction and application results of BIM of Shougang Construction Group have obtained high social recognition.

During the meeting, the professional technicians of Shougang Construction Group had an extensive and in-depth discussion with a number of BIM experts on the development history, current existing problems and development direction of BIM in China, through which, they obtained a deeper understanding of the most advanced application results of BIM and the development trend of BIM industry, gained great enlightenment and made clearer the direction of BIM application and popularization in the next step.
