Recently, at the theme award ceremony of “Model for State-owned Enterprises and Example in Beijing” in Beijing SASAC system in 2017, Wu Liyun from Shougang Jingtang Company won the honorary title of Ten Characters of “Model for State-owned Enterprises and Example in Beijing”; Wang Rui from Goods and Materials Supply Company of Shougang Group Co., Ltd. won the honorary title of Outstanding Personage of “Model for State-owned Enterprises and Example in Beijing”.

Wu Liyun, head of Energy and Environment Department of Shougang Jingtang Company, is a leading figure in the research and development of energy conservation and emission reduction waste heat desalination technology--an outstanding achievement which helps China make an outstanding breakthrough in iron and steel plant waste heat desalination for the first time. In the field of “energy conservation and environmental recycling”, he participated in and organized a large number of research projects on national energy conservation and environmental protection, which achieved remarkable economic and social benefits. Through the above practice, he demonstrated in person the concept of “being energy-efficient to create a clean and environmentally-friendly society”.

Wang Rui is the leader of Excavator Squad in Automobile Transport Operation Area of Goods and Materials Supply Company of Shougang Group Co., Ltd. Through assiduous study, he has mastered the operation and troubleshooting techniques of 9 types of excavators, which wins him the nickname—the “talent” of excavator operation. He always tries his best to pursue perfection in the ordinary daily work. In 2016, his “go for perfect” working ethics eventually made him the national champion of excavator competition event in the second-season occupation skill competition of “Expert in China”.

In 2017, the theme activity of “Model for State-owned Enterprises and Example in Beijing” took as the theme “sailing to pursue dreams in a new era, starting on a journey without forgetting the original will”, and followed the principle of cultivating and practicing socialist values to work well in the model selection work. The Organizing Committee consisting of Publicity Department of the Municipal Committee, Capital Civilization Office, Municipal SASAC, Capital News Media, etc. adopted such models as multi-level selection of models, integration promotion, and programmed identification, professional publicity and others, to mobilize Party member cadres and workers of capital state-owned enterprises to select, learn and praise the models. All these measures have helped the activity capture constant and considerable attention, thus making the socialist core values permeate all levels of society in a subtle yet profound way. Out of the 264 candidates recommended by 48 units since the launch of the activity one year ago, 61 candidates have been awarded the honorary title of “Model for State-owned Enterprises and Example in Beijing” in 2017 after several rounds of evaluation. Furthermore, on the principles of representativeness, typicality and demonstration, 10 people were selected out of the 61 award winners by the Organizing Committee as Ten Characters of “Model for State-owned Enterprises and Example in Beijing” in 2017.

Wu Liyun said at the award ceremony that we should continue to innovate and improve process techniques while doing our daily work, so that the desalination technology will benefit thousands of households and make contributions to the enterprises and the nation.
